Nunes blasts politicized Mueller team for ‘FRAUD’ after discrepancies found between ‘source information’ on former POTUS lawyer
Anyone who still believes that former special counsel Robert Mueller is a stand-up, honest guy who truly wanted justice to prevail in his BS “investigation” of POTUS Donald Trump and “Russian collusion” will have to explain why we keep finding stellar examples of his rank anti-Trump partisanship.
Like, for instance, the fact that he and his team of Democrat-donating prosecutors led by that hack, Andrew Weissman, have altered source information used in the probe to make the president and his team appear guilty.
House Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes, who has been all over the corruption surrounding the “Spygate” operation launched by the Obama regime to depose POTUS Trump, is crying foul — and “fraud” — after the discovery of altered source information regarding the president’s first national security adviser, Michael Flynn, and presidential lawyer John Dowd.
Fox News reports that Nunes, California Republican, is seeking the release of “all backup and source information” for the Mueller report after a newly released transcript of former Trump lawyer Dowd’s voicemail message included content that did not appear in a version which was made part of the special counsel’s Russia investigation findings.
“It’s all a fraud,” Nunes wrote on Twitter, referring to the Mueller report, to which the California Republican referred using the hashtag #muellerdossier.

Once again #MuellerReport edited messages to make them appear more damaging, full transcript of this phone call reveals Dowd’s message was pretty typical for a lawyer and he clearly states he’s not interested in any confidential info. What else did they manipulate🙄 pic.twitter.com/7JHRzgmh3Y

Fox News noted further:
Nunes, ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, was reacting to the release of a voicemail message that John Dowd, a former lawyer for President Trump, had left for a lawyer representing former national security adviser Michael Flynn, in which Dowd asks for a “heads up” if Flynn planned to say anything damaging about Trump to Mueller’s team.
Nunes retweeted a side-by-side comparison of the Dowd transcript text and the Mueller report text, suggesting that the Mueller report did not disclose the full Dowd message. The Mueller had redacted the part of the voicemail where Dowd said he wanted the heads up “not only for the president but for the country” and that he wasn’t asking for “any confidential information.”
Dowd said, according to the transcript, “I understand that you can’t join the joint defense; so that’s one thing. If, on the other hand, we have, there’s information that … implicates the president, then we’ve got a national security issue, or maybe a national security issue, I don’t know … some issue, we got to — we got to deal with, not only for the president, but for the country. So … uh … you know, then-then, you know, we need some kind of heads-up.” The phone call took place in November 2017.
Federal prosecutors released the transcript in a court filing.
Meanwhile, Flynn, who pleaded guilty last year to lying to federal investigators about contacts with Russians, is currently awaiting sentencing — which has been delayed a number of times now. He said the call was an effort to obstruct his cooperation with Mueller’s team.
Dowd called that claim ridiculous. “This is clearly a baseless, political document designed to smear and damage the reputation of counsel and innocent people,” he said in a statement Friday.
This comes as several other investigations into the origins of how the Russian collusion probe began during the Obama administration — and when — are underway.
As for this particular tactic of tainting/changing/altering evidence, this has Weissman’s fingerprints all over it. Notes former federal prosecutor Sydney Powell, author of the bestseller, “License to Lie: Exposing Corruption in the Department of Justice,” Weissman is more of a hack than he is a prosecutor.
She wrote in The Hill in 2017:
Much has been written about the prosecutorial prowess of Robert Mueller’s team assembled to investigate allegations of Russia’s involvement in the Trump campaign. Little has been said of the danger of prosecutorial overreach and the true history of Mueller’s lead prosecutor. …
Mueller tapped a different sort of prosecutor to lead his investigation — his long-time friend and former counsel, Andrew Weissmann. He is not just a “tough” prosecutor. Time after time, courts have reversed Weissmann’s most touted “victories” for his tactics. This is hardly the stuff of a hero in the law.
Weissmann, as deputy and later director of the Enron Task Force, destroyed the venerable accounting firm of Arthur Andersen LLP and its 85,000 jobs worldwide — only to be reversed several years later by a unanimous Supreme Court.
Next, Weissmann creatively criminalized a business transaction between Merrill Lynch and Enron. Four Merrill executives went to prison for as long as a year. Weissmann’s team made sure they did not even get bail pending their appeals, even though the charges Weissmann concocted, like those against Andersen, were literally unprecedented.
Weissmann’s prosecution devastated the lives and families of the Merrill executives, causing enormous defense costs, unimaginable stress and torturous prison time. The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the mass of the case.
Weissmann quietly resigned from the Enron Task Force just as the judge in the Enron Broadband prosecution began excoriating Weissmann’s team and the press began catching on to Weissmann’s modus operandi.
Mueller knows this history.
Mueller a stand-up, law-and-order guy? Who picked a lead prosecutor with a well-established history of screwing people over just to win convictions, even if it means changing/fabricating evidence?
Sure. And we’ve got oceanfront property in Wyoming to sell you.
